Phenome data analysis led to the identification of 107 agronomic traits, affected by various stress combinations. These traits were mapped to the Trait ontology (TO) terms using Ontobee and Planteome databases. Of this, 32 were related to plant morphology and yield (Type A), 37 to plant physiology (Type B) and 38 were biochemical traits (Type C) corresponding to changes in enzymes, metabolites and hormone levels. These traits, precisely the morphological traits, can be targeted for trait-based breeding programs towards developing combined stress-tolerant crops. Gene to TO relationships can be derived to further decipher the genome to phenome relationships under combined stress.
