In medieval scholarship, a florilegium was a personal notebook of carefully chosen excerpts; "flowers" gathered from
books. We have reimagined this practice for the age of artificial intelligence, transforming scattered phytochemical
observations from literature into structured evidence-linked knowledge graphs. Just as a classical florilegium allowed
readers to move between ideas across texts, Florilegium Phytochemistry enables seamless movement across biological
entities, chemical knowledge, and published evidence.
This is a FAIR-compliant, evidence-linked knowledge florilegium that represents phytochemical information as
species-chemistry-DOI triplets extracted from the scientific literature. Organized as an interactive knowledge graph, the
resource enables dynamic exploration of phytochemical patterns encoded in the literature, while ensuring findability,
interoperability, and reuse through standardized identifiers and persistent links to primary publications. It is designed to
support biodiversity research, natural product discovery, chemotaxonomy, and AI-driven knowledge synthesis by
preserving explicit links between phytochemicals, their biological source, and published evidence.
